The Listening and Reading tests use multiple-choice questions, while for the Speaking test, the trainee is required to respond to questions in English posed by the computer. The WPL-CAT costs $10.50 (excluding GST).

The results for the Listening and Reading segments of the test will be made known to the TDVL applicant immediately after the completion of the test, while for the Speaking segment, STA will inform the TDVL applicant of the result 2 – 3 weeks after the completion of the test.
TDVL applicants who do not obtain a Level 3 or higher pass in any of the 3 segments will have to go through the WPL Conversational English programme, which is a 45-hour programme (3 hours a day for 15 days). The cost of the programme is $25 (excluding GST). At the end of the programme, they will be required so sit for the post-course WPL-CAT (a test fee of $10.50 (excluding GST) is payable) and obtain at least a Level 3 pass for all 3 segments of the test. This requirement must be met before TDVL applicants can be approved to enrol for the TDVL course. |
